The last time I posted I said I wanted to update and post at least once a week. That was 5 weeks ago....Oh well, I guess right now I have more important things to do and this will get done eventually. I am having tons of fun spending each day with my little man and he is really starting to "wake up" to the world around him. We will lay and talk to each other for quite a while each day and he just seems so happy! He giggles when I tickle him and loves playing with his crinkly toys. He isn't rolling over yet, but I think that is because he does not like being on his tummy so we don't get very much time in on that, it is getting better though.
I am really wishing I had more time to work on my Etsy shop right now! I have quite a few new fabrics, plus about 5 new ideas of items, but no time to do it! I am taking the last three classes towards my masters degree and that seems to take up every bit of "free" time I have right now. I'm hoping once summer comes I can devote quite a bit of time to it.
I did list a new item though recently so go check out the Comfort Cuddlers in my shop! A reusable hot or cold pack that has many uses with babies, kids, and adults!

10 weeks of cloth diapering!
My little boy is almost 11 weeks old and he wore his first cloth diaper at 8 days old when his cord stump finally fell off. I am loving the cloth diapers! We started out with mostly prefolds and covers because it is the most economical way to cloth diaper and that is one of the big reasons for us deciding to do it. I have been able to buy some pocket and all-in-one diapers now very cheaply so I am still not spending a lot of money.
One of the things that I have noticed for sure is that the first week he wore disposables, and then a few other days around Thanksgiving, was the only time we have dealt with any diaper rash! There was a certain brand especially that would start a rash after only wearing one! Now that we are exclusively using cloth we have not seen any rash and if he seems to be looking red, we just let his little bum air out for a few minutes at every diaper change.
Another thing my husband and I have determined is that disposable diapers smell awful! They smell even before you put them on the baby and we did not like that at all. I hated feeling like I was putting so many chemicals next to his sensitive skin so I was completely in love with the cloth diapers. The disposables have all the gel chemicals in them to absorb the liquid and there was a few times that when we would change him he would have these little gel like beads on his skin where they had escaped from the disposable diaper.
Finally, I just felt awful every time I changed a disposable diaper and knew it was going straight into the trash to a landfill. With cloth it is nice to throw it in our wet bag and know that I will be reusing it again, and again, and again. We have even already talked to friends who may want to borrow or buy the cloth diapers he does not fit in anymore for their babies. Talk about saving money and keeping our planet clean!
I also can't help but love how cute my little guy is in all of his different diapers and decided I needed to share some pictures for all of you!

I need to get better at this!
So obviously it has been a while since I have posted. From October 19th (my last post) to November 5th I just was not on top of the ball. But since November 5th I have been cuddling my new baby boy! Everything went very smoothly and he is growing like a weed now at almost 11 weeks old. We are finally starting to get into somewhat of a schedule, or at least I can get stuff done now, and things are getting back to "normal". It will be my new goal to post at least once a week if not more since that was my original intention with this blog!

How much longer?!
So I'm just over 36 weeks pregnant and I am starting to get really impatient to meet my little guy! I definitely want him to keep cooking for another week so I am technically all the way to full term, but I really hope he doesn't decide to wait until 40 weeks or after to make his debut! It seems like it is so close, yet so far away since I don't actually know when he will be coming. I think we are all ready, though there are a few little things that people say we should have. All he really needs though is someone to care for him and love him (me and my husband!), food (I'm breastfeeding), and diapers/clothes (we are cloth diapering).
I am really not nervous to have a baby around, my bachelors degree is in Elementary Education and I have worked in many daycare's while growing up. I know it will be completely different when it is my own child, and I am so looking forward to the bond that I make with him.
Anyone have any tips or advice on helping these last couple weeks pass by quickly for me?! I am done with work on Friday and after that I will probably be going stir crazy here at home. Hopefully I will get the nesting instinct soon so I feel like super cleaning everything since all I want to do right now is sit around! Can't wait to see this:

Motivation to clean?!
I am going to be a stay-at-home-mom once my little guy is born in a month or so and I am already having trouble motivating myself to do housework! Maybe cause I am so tired lately and don't have energy enough to do anything but sit on the couch, but I'm worried now that I won't be able to motivate myself after he arrives either! I don't like sitting around a messy house, but how do you all do it? I have thought about assigning certain tasks to certain days, but have not actually done it yet. I also get motivated in the morning to cook dinner and then by the time my husband gets home and it is time to eat I don't feel like making what I had planned!
Let's hear your tips on staying motivated and keeping up with everything around the house. I need to get in the habit of doing it.....and soon!!

Need a gift for a new mom?!
I have recently started making customizable burp cloths and bibs for new babies and moms! Each item is made from 100% cotton flannel with absorbent inner layers. The burp cloths are contoured to fit comfortably on your shoulder and the bibs have a nice wide bottom to cover more of your little baby!

| Blue Flower Burp Cloth |
All items are sewn to last and are sold as sets and as individual pieces. I would love to help customize one to match your taste, or that of a new mom you know.

If you have another item in mind besides these I am probably able to do those as well!!

Prepping Cloth Diapers
This is a very scary process to me!! I don't want to do something wrong to them and possibly mess them up in some way!! Probably this weekend I will try to wash all my prefolds first, and then do the covers and everything else. I have read that I should wash my prefolds at least 4 times before the first use because each time you wash and dry them, the fluffier they get and the more absorbent they will be. My covers with the PUL lining supposedly need to be washed and then dried the first time only preferably.
Hopefully when I do all of this I won't mess them up or make them less absorbent, I am going to get different detergent today to use as well. I have a High Efficiency front loading machine and am going to start with Tide original powder for HE. Crossing my fingers and my toes that it works! I would love for the Tide to work because then I could just use the same detergent for all of our laundry and not have to teach my husband how to help with the laundry! :-)
